Infant

Our infant teachers work hard each day to allow all children the chance to engage in simple activities. These activities support their cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Children are in the infant room from the ages of 6 weeks up to 16 months. Our small teacher to child ratio (1:4) allows these loving teachers to work closely with each child and begin the foundational work for later learning.

Toddler

Our toddler teachers strive to give each child a chance to engage in a variety of activities to support their cognitive, emotional, and physical development daily. Children are in the toddler room from the ages of 16 months up to 33 months. Our teacher to child ratio (1:7) allows these energetic teachers to work closely with each child and continue to build on their foundational work and prepare them for preschool.

Preschool 

Our preschool teachers plan time daily to give each child a chance to engage in a variety of activities to support their cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Children are in the preschool room from the ages of 33 months until they are eligible for kindergarten. Our teacher to child ratio (1:10) allows these dedicated teachers to work closely with each child and continue to build on their foundational work and prepare them for kindergarten.

Each classroom has nap time. See your child's classroom teacher for specific times.

If you wish to send birthday treats for your child’s special day, please feel free to do so. They must be purchased and in the original container. Please check with your classroom teacher about any food allergies

We understand every child is unique with their own individual learning pattern and because of this we will respect each child’s learning preferences and give them the opportunity to learn in a safe and loving environment. 

CPC offers conferences twice a year. Make sure to keep an eye on Tadpoles and in your child’s classroom for sign up sheets and other conference related forms.

Potty training can be an exciting and stressful time. When you feel your child is ready let your classroom teacher know so we can work together to achieve this exciting milestone! 

Classrooms go outside twice a day. Please keep an eye on the weather and be sure you are dressing your child for the weather. 

Both of our facilities have the highest quality rating through Parent Aware rated. Parent Aware Ratings are based upon demonstrated use of practices which best prepare children for kindergarten.

Children thrive on routine. Each classroom has created a daily routine to help each child learn and grow.

We love to take field trips! A majority of the field trips are during the summer months. All field trip forms must be signed before a child is allowed to attend.

Each child should bring closed toed shoes to school daily. 

As your child gets ready to graduate their classroom, you and your child's teacher will create a plan to ensure a smooth transition.

Families will receive live updates about their child's daily activities along with pictures, videos and any notes from teachers through a safe and secure app Tadpoles.

Our preschool rooms use  Handwriting Without Tears (HWT). HWT is the most effective curriculum for teaching handwriting to all children because it uses multisensory techniques and consistent habits for letter formation to teach handwriting to all student.  

Canoga offers two snacks and one meal. Each family can choose to provide a well balanced meal following USDA guidelines, or they can eat the food we prepare on site. 

Independence is a goal for every child at CPC, no matter their age. Each teacher creates individualized goals to help each child build their self esteem and self confidence. 

Family vacations are great experiences for every child. If your family has a family vacation planned, please let your classroom teacher know and feel free to bring pictures to share with the class!

Jackets can be left at the center and brought home at the end of the week.

Our preschool teachers work hard to ensure your child is ready for kindergarten. Our curriculum is tailored to help them succeed during their first year of school.

We allow children to learn through all their senses. Often this can lead to a messy art project or extra fun outside. Please supply an extra set of clothes to ensure we can always keep your child clean. 

To help ensure your child doesn't loose anything, pleases label all items brought to the center with their first and last name.

Canoga Park Childcare uses the MAT bus for transportation on local field trips. 

Zzzzzz Setting and keeping a bedtime routine is one of the best things you can do to help your child succeeded throughout the day.
